Its name, linked by its having been frequented by many members of the Russian Imperial House, evokes past glories, memories of romantic Russian painters who chose the light and landscapes of the Eternal City as their source of inspiration, and the dramatic arrival of the aristocratic Russian exiles in Italy. Every Hotel de Russie client is immediately given the feeling of having arrived in an exclusive place with a special atmosphere rich in history and the past where elegance is never opulent but instead creates around each guest a sense of harmony and well being.

If, on the exterior, the warm Roman colorings reflect those of the city, in the interior for the lounges and bedrooms neutral shades have been favored, the walls and furnishings being all in delicate pastel shades from greenish-blue to sand-ivory with sophisticated touches of amethyst. Furniture is linear, some pieces are of Asiatic inspiration decorated with precious red and black lacquers.

Bedrooms and suites look out over the garden, onto piazza del Popolo and out over the famous Roman rooftops and are equipped with all modern services, modem and fax, Internet and TV.

Situated in the enchantment of the secret garden with its age-old palms and yew trees, blossoming orange groves and rose bushes, is the restaurant Le Jardin de Russie where, in warm weather, tables are also set outside. The delicacies prepared by the Chef, with their Mediterranean colors and fragrances, are one of the not-to-be-missed experiences of a stay at the Hotel de Russie.  And let's not forget a visit to the Stravinsky Bar in piazzetta Valadier, which has rediscovered its fame as a pleasant and convenient meeting-place in the centre of Rome.
