Many of the original interior features have been preserved, including black terrazzo floors, a grand lobby staircase, and a curved wall of polished cherry wood with 72 polished domed wall sconces. An oversized oval rug, with patterned design inspired by 1940's Parisian metal designer Poillerat, softens the wall and floor treatments. Throughout the lobby and public space, a cobalt blue accented palette of chartreuse, mango, and citrus authenticates the MiMo theme. Glass and polished aluminum railings wind through the spacious interior, punctuated by large circular columns wrapped in a rich cherry veneer. Custom-designed stainless steel light fixtures and contemporary Venetian glass chandeliers add to the period elegance. And a multi-million dollar art collection features works by more than a dozen established and emerging Latin American and European artists who have created modern works inspired by the Art Moderne era.

The hotel is ideally situated in the heart of internationally acclaimed South Beach and is only steps away from myriad dining, shopping, entertainment and nightlife options, including those on fashionable Lincoln Road, a thriving ten-block pedestrian mall.

Accommodations

The 375-room Ritz-Carlton, South Beach offers accommodations inspired by the staterooms on a luxury liner. Dark cherry furniture blends with color schemes of nautical blue, spruce green and burnished gold in most guestrooms and 41 suites. An architectural addition of 54 poolside and ocean view lanai rooms and six oceanfront suites flank an elevated pool that provides unobstructed views of the Atlantic Ocean. It is the only hotel pool of its kind on South Beach and features two grand ocean view VIP cabanas for days of private sunbathing and evening cocktail soirées.

A select number of rooms feature graduated terraces that ascend in a pyramid like pattern toward the top of the 11-story building and offer an additional 400-square feet of private, outdoor living space.

Club Level

For guests seeking an extra level of grandeur, comfort and privacy, the resort offers the exclusive Club Level on floors nine and ten. Guestrooms on the Club Level include use of a spacious lounge which offers private check-in and concierge services, wireless Internet access, panoramic views of Miami Beach, five food and beverage presentations and champagne served throughout the day. It is the only South Beach hotel with a VIP guest level.

Restaurants

Dining at The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach is as seductive as its environment. Americana, the resort's signature restaurant, features "real" food - steak, seafood, pasta and salads, under the helm of Bernardo Espinel. Stunning surroundings and celebrity-watching add to the ambience at breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner indoors and al fresco with pool and ocean views. The DiLido Beach Club, South Beach's only oceanfront restaurant and lounge, features Sun Cuisine from the Mediterranean for lunch and dinner in a beautiful, Moroccan-inspired setting. Lapidus Lounge overlooks the pool and features cocktails, wine, champagne, specialty martinis, sushi, and light bites.

Tanning Butler

Providing the ultimate in service and sunbathing convenience, the Tanning Butler strolls the pool from 11:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. (peak tanning hours) Thursday through Sunday carrying a variety of tanning products. The specialty butler offers a range of SPF products and applies them at sunbathers' requests to hard-to-reach back and shoulder areas. It is the only known Tanning Butler in the world.

Poolside Palaces

Magnificent infinity views of the Atlantic can be seen from the pool deck where two VIP day beds rest, perfect for days of private sun bathing and evenings of intimate cocktail soirees. While guests bask in the sun, complimentary pool side amenities are offered throughout the day such as scented oshibori towels, ice cold water sprays, and hourly culinary tastings that include various smoothies and frozen fruits. A martini, mimosa and Bloody Mary cart roves the pool deck on the weekends. One hundred and fifty oversized lounge chairs throughout the pool deck are complimentary to sun revelers and provide a relaxing setting from which to enjoy the only infinity views of the Atlantic Ocean from any South Beach hotel.

Spa

The Spa at The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach features La Maison de Beauté Carita, the first spa of its kind outside of Paris, and offers a sanctuary of glamour, innovation and elegance as the largest spa on Miami Beach. This exclusive spa is home to Prada Spa face and body treatments (developed exclusively for The Ritz-Carlton) and combines the legendary products of Carita Paris with personal service to provide a complete range of face, body and hair treatments and products.

The 16,000 square-foot Spa reflects the light airiness of its South Beach setting and features calming waters which lead guests into the inner spa chamber, where tranquil music, soft lighting and compressed bamboo flooring creates an elegant and soothing atmosphere. Fourteen treatment rooms include two couple's suites with whirlpools, eight massage rooms, three skincare rooms, and one wet room. Men's and women's lounges feature round "urban rainforest" showers with 23 body sprays, and Zen Water features that include dry saunas and steam baths to cleanse and rejuvenate the body.
